When The Bully Is The Coach
Marlon Dorsey beats underaged boys with a giant leather strap, nonconsensually, while other boys watch, and calls them “bitch” and “sissy.” Saying that on Fetlife will get you banned, and possibly jailed. But when Dorsey does it, he wears a coach’s whistle, which in his mind somehow makes it okay.
Dorsey used a weightlifting belt to pummel players at a practice. Not for misconduct, even. Just for mistakes in practice. (Isn’t the point of practice to make mistakes? In school sports, I never got hit or even had to take a lap for making a mistake. For being mouthy, for indiscipline, for not trying; but never for a mistake. Mistakes are how we learn.)
“I took it upon myself to save these young men from the destruction of self and what society has accepted and become silent to the issues our students are facing on a daily basis. I am deeply remorseful of my actions to help our students.”
[Emphasis supplied.] That’s not an apology. He’s not even saying he was wrong. He’s saying he was right. “remorseful” is a word he threw in there because he knew, or someone told him, that it would go over a lot better if he said it.
I’m going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. He’s either some kind of religious fanatic, or a predator who derived sexual gratification from his abuse of underaged boys, or both.[Psst! Check his Google search history.] But whatever his reasons, he cannot be allowed to work with children again, in any capacity, ever.
